UPCOMING WHOLE SCHOOL MUSIC PERFORMANCE

August 19, 2009
-TUES 25th AUGUST, Period 5 in the Gym

As part of a project for their Personal Development Classes Year 12 VCAL students are organising a music Concert on TUES 25th AUGUST, Period 5 in the Gym.

They have been working with the Music Faculty planning the event for a while now and are excited to showcase the amazing musical talent that our school has to offer.

Playing on the day will be our school’s supergroup VEVELA (who came 4th in the Australia-wide ASHTON music competition), the Multi-Cultural Band, the Vet Music rock band & Vocal groups.

This event is for the whole school and we know that everyone will want to show their support and appreciation to the performers on the day.

Bookweek will be held during the week beginning the 24th August. Details are as follows:


Speakers and Workshops.

Wednesday, 26th August - Poet Myron Lysenko will perform for all Year 9's during Period 2 and then conduct poetry workshops in A2 for:

7C during period 3. (RU)

7A during period 4. (RU)

9D during period 5. (AC)



Thursday, 27th August. - author Scot Gardner will speak to all year 7 and 8 classes together with their classroom teachers in the library

during period 2, followed by workshops for:

7C during period 3 (VS)

7B " " 4 (GM)

7A " " 5 (KS)



Dress-up.

We will be holding a dress-up parade in the courtyard (weather permitting) on Thursday, 27th August at lunchtime. Please come dressed

as your favourite book character and prizes will be awarded to the best costume.



Bookmark competition.

Year 7 - 9 English teachers kindly encourage students to participate.



Various lunchtime activities will be held each day of the week.
