Year 7 Teambuilding Day - May 1st 2009
|
June 1, 2009
|
|
Written by Dila, Kon, Year 7
On 1st May, a group of Teambuilding experts came to LNSC to teach us more about team work and what it really means to us!
Soon, all the year sevens broke into their form groups and we all began the activities they provided us with, such as the human know, chocolate factory, icebreakers, and many more.
Later on, we were interrupted by two verbal combat performers which they taught us alot about bullying and harrassment.
Just after that, they performed to all year eight and year seven classes, a little play which was FANTASTIC to watch.
But, the best bit of all was that we were allowed to stay in Sport Uniform for the whole day!
- Dila, Year 7.
On the 1st May we had a Yr7 Team Building Day. A group of people called "Verbal Combat" came to our school and did a performance for us. It was about being peer pressured, being cool and being left out. After the performance had finished we went out for recess.
After recess we were split into three different groups. IN my group we played some puzzle games. My favorite was "Chocolate Factory".
We ended the day by making suggestions on what we should do with some empty space around the school we haven't used. What a day to end the week!
- Kon, Year 7.

Streetwise League (Episode 1: Riches to Rags)
Developed by Frank Mwamba, year 12.
Storyline:
Shawn K is a young talented soccer star, born in a family of talented sportsmen. His grandfather and father were great players, but only his father made the headlines in every newspaper and on the sport news. Having his way already paved by his father Shawn doesn’t feel as great as his father who started playing in the dirty slums. He feels like a baby born with a silver spoon in the mouth.
Before his death, Shawn’s father tells him that a real soccer legend comes from the dirty slums and eventually makes his way to the very top, fulfilling the rags to riches myth.
After the incident Shawn K fakes mischief and foul play to make his way out of the professional league. And then moves to the unsafe and notorious slums and disguises himself as ‘Prince’ an ambitious streetwise footballer who has to make his way from the bottom to the top. In the slums Shawn plays with people who consider soccer as a way of life not as a job.
Now shockingly knowing that even his noble fans play better than he does, Shawn K has to dominate the infamous Street Wise League, earn respect in the streets and fulfill the rags to riches myth.
