Students interested in a career in media, advertising, radio or journalism are invited to become a member of the Lalor North Press and Radio Group. Students gain valuable industry experience in the press and radio fields under guidance of other teachers and students with prior experience in these fields, as well as links to organisations and contacts working in the industry.
The groups are student run; In the press group, students write articles, take photos, and design layouts/brochures for the school website, newsletter, student e-zine, and annual school magazine.
In the Radio group, students present music and practise radio production and presenting in the school radio station.
From this, students gain experience and understanding of their fields as well as folio work that would be used in finding work and developing their career after finishing school.
